Stopping the urban chaos in Budva, which causes numerous traffic and infrastructural problems, but also degrades the quality of life of all citizens of Budva, will be a key priority of the new municipal administration led by the URA Civic Movement, announced the Municipal Board of the URA Budva Civic Movement.
In a statement, they say that they promise this from the list led by Blažo Radjenović, stating that they will press for the final adoption of the Law on Spatial Planning prepared by the Government of former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, which returns spatial planning competences to local governments.
"Immediately after the adoption of that great law, the Municipality will establish its own company, which will employ architects, spatial planners, urban planners, sociologists, construction and traffic engineers, as well as many other necessary experts, so that we can finally take on the role of adopting the Budva planning documentation. For too long, privileged tycoons and criminals have decided what will be built in our Budva, so it's high time we take matters into our own hands," pointed out the Budva URE.
They state "that it was the Spajić and Mandić governments that withdrew such a law from the procedure, with the promise that they would soon return it and adopt it, only in order to grab power for themselves and set up jobs for investors close to them".
"Budva must ask about its own space, because this is the only way to carry out the necessary rehabilitation and make our Municipality functional, efficient and greener. If various Gvozdenovićs, Spajićs, Mandićs and Odovićs continue to manage Budva's space, they will also destroy this little space that we have left, which we have to use for public facilities that are necessary for Budva", they said from Budva URE.
They point out that most of the plans were adopted 10 or 15 years ago, with a validity period of five years, which is why the time to review such harmful plans was a decade ago.
"Instead, the old plans were 'zombified' by the adoption of harmful and dysfunctional laws, so they are still being implemented today, which permanently and irreversibly devastates the area of Budva. Instead of parks and green areas, Budva has become synonymous with concretization, which can and must be changed urgently by the reaction of the new municipal government", indicate from Budva URE.
They state that only the Municipality of Budva, in cooperation with the citizens of Budva, can bring high-quality planning solutions in the interest of Budva, and that finally it must stop with the practice of deciding about Budva in Podgorica cafes or ministerial offices.
"We will return Budva - Budva. And to the citizens of Budva, who live in it and who are the primary and most numerous users of the space. To those who pay for every bad plan, every disputed solitaire or arranged business, because Budva can and must - DIFFERENT", they concluded from Budva URE.
