As part of the future local government in Berane, the European Union will find a solution that will not threaten the survival of small businesses on the market, the union announced.
"We will enable entrepreneurs to continue their business, which is of great importance for our municipality, and at the same time satisfy the interests of all parties. The vision of the European Union includes the development of Beran through a balance of large investments and the preservation of small local businesses. We are aware that only through the harmony of these interests can it be achieved stable and prosperous community. Our goal is an environment in which local businesses will be a priority for every future government, and every step towards the development of the city will take place in accordance with their needs," the European Union's announcement states.
They added that the current government claims that the decision to sell the land at this location was made in accordance with the law.
"We believe that such decisions should not be made without careful consideration of the long-term interests of citizens and the local economy. Issues concerning the economy and jobs of the citizens of Beran require prior consultation with those who are most affected. The European Union seeks the trust of its fellow citizens in the upcoming elections in order to , as part of the future government, dedicated to finding solutions that will protect small entrepreneurs and preserve their jobs," said the European Union.
