Nikola Jovanović, the holder of the "Budva our city" list, announced the victory of that list in the local elections held today in Budva.
He said that he did it based on the processed 62 percent of the votes.
"I am using the opportunity to announce the electoral victory of the list Budva nas grad. Based on the results that have arrived, it is certain that the electoral list 'Budva our city' will once again have the largest number of mandates, a total of nine, as a list that went to the elections on its own, a list that passed Golgotha, perhaps the most down-to-earth campaign that was waged against us, against which everyone united," said Jovanović at the press conference.

He said that the second list that won a larger number of mandates was the "For the Future of Budva" coalition, which has nine councilor mandates.
"With one difference, and that is that in the previous election cycle it was a coalition of nine political entities, and now of ten and that the largest constituent in them has four mandates. So our nine on the four of the New Serbian Democracy, things are more than clear, we are more than twice as strong as the first political constituent and the list," said Jovanović.
He added that DPS won seven mandates.
"The Democrats-PES coalition, which together won six mandates in the previous election cycle, this time won twice as many, three mandates. Colleague Zenović (Đorđe) won two mandates, the European Union also two and URA one mandate. When we translate that into votes , our electoral list won 2.383 or 26,66 percent, the coalition "For the Future of Budva" won 2.358 or 26,38 percent. Colleague Zenović 566 votes or 6,3, colleague Vujičić (Božidar) 110 or 1,23, coalition PES-Democrats only 839 or 9,39 percent, URA 314 or 3,51, European Union 582 or 6,51 and DPS 1.787 votes or 19,9 percent," said Jovanović.
He said that things will not change.
He said that the coalition PES-Democrats should first understand the message of May 26.
"I think they didn't understand it enough because they didn't behave responsibly after those elections, some even didn't deign to show up for the negotiations they were invited to. Unfortunately, Budva became a hostage to the reconstruction of the Government and state politics. The citizens of Budva, Podgorica this time clearly stated on that issue, instead of the six mandates they won, they give them three, so twice less, and I think that the message is very clear, that finally these political entities must show responsibility, that they must respect the electoral will of the citizens of Budva, us as local lists and to finally act responsibly, which is to form the government," said Jovanović.
According to him, as far as they are concerned, the government without DPS and New Serbian Democracy (NSD) is the desired scenario.
"And that really doesn't sound so bad. We are very ready to talk to everyone and to create political stability for the next four years and cooperate for the benefit and interest of the citizens of Budva," said Jovanović.
There are 33 councilor seats in the Budva parliament, so a majority of 17 councilors is needed to form a government.
