It is with regret that I note that Budva remains buried in trenches, in divisions, announced Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić, the list holder of the Democrats-PES coalition in the local elections held today in Budva.
According to preliminary results, the list of that coalition won three mandates.
In the elections held in May this year, Democratic Montenegro won four mandates, and the Europe Now Movement (PES) won two mandates.
"Unfortunately, decent Budva did not win today. I never give up, I will not give up today either. I am proud of the campaign I led, of the messages I sent to our citizens. I am proud of all the people who participated in this campaign." Kažanegra Stanišić said at the press conference.
She added that every vote of the list she led was as pure as a tear.
"The election result and election mathematics, I would say, the same result that we had in the last elections, Democratic Montenegro and PES, is now divided between our coalition Democrats-PES and the Movement for the City, it absolutely seems to me that these elections They did not bring anything new. We are told that the system of values in our city is seriously shaken. As for the formation of the future government, I think that it is an option if there is enough political responsibility, maturity and wisdom aside from personal vanity and take into account only the interest of our city and citizens, the formation of the government is possible. We as a political entity are very serious, cooperative and constructive. If all political entities stay in the background and on the messages they sent during the election campaign , which is that those who won the largest number of votes will not go into a coalition with DPS, there is enough space for the government to be formed between these political entities," said Kažanegra Stanišić.
She said that the correct political rationale does not exist in Budva.
"Because if there was, I'm sure the election result would have been different. When I say that the government can be formed, it can be formed without DPS and it must be formed only on democratic principles. I am convinced that those who won the largest number of mandates, it is their responsibility to take a serious approach to the formation of the government, leaving out the DPS as a possible constituent of the future government in Budva," she said.
When asked who is closer to her than those who won the most votes, she said: "We are equally distant."
There are 33 councilor seats in the Budva parliament, so a majority of 17 councilors is needed to form a government.
The holder of the list of Democratic Montenegro in the elections in Budva held in May was Đorđe Zenović, who in the meantime left that party and in today's elections led the group of voters "Movement for the City - Đorđe Zenović". According to the preliminary results, that list won two mandates today.
