Member of Parliament and Vice-President of the Bosniak Party (BS) Jasmin Ćorović called on the authorities to investigate the motives of the rally that was held yesterday in Sljepač most.
Today at a press conference in the Parliament of Montenegro, he said that at that meeting a certain Petar Kljajević wanted to connect the murders of Jovan and Milenko Madžgalj with the religious affiliation of the suspect for those murders, Alija Balijagić.
Kljajević allegedly made the controversial statement at a meeting in Sljepač most, where residents of the Vraneška valley blocked the main road from Bijelo Polje to Mojkovac and Podgorica, and the regional road to Pljevlje for two hours, indignant that Balijagić had not yet been caught.
"First of all, we want to express our condolences to the Madžgalj family. A certain Petar Kljajević wanted to link the murders to the killer's religious affiliation and said that they had something to do with Islamic fundamentalism. He is not the first to put forward this thesis, but the president also stated the same of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić in the controversial show Ćirilica with the controversial journalist Marić," said Ćorović at the press conference.
He added that he wanted to ask the question "can a man who has spent 38 years in prisons, who is a murderer, a rapist, drinks alcohol, have anything to do with Islam?"
He said that they welcome the Police Directorate (UP) and the National Security Agency (ANB), which stated in a statement that they cannot connect Balijagić with fundamentalism.
"I would like to mention that Kljajević said that he would not allow Muslims to pray in the central city square in Bijelo Polje. I believe that there are elements of hate speech here. I call on the competent authorities to investigate which organization Kljajević belongs to. We really do not know what the motives of this gathering are, so we invite the authorities to investigate this as well. We want to send messages of peace and tolerance from this place," said Ćorović.
The Montenegrin police have been looking for Balijagić since the evening of October 25 on suspicion that he killed brother and sister Jovan (60) and Milenko Madžgalj (69) in their home in the village of Sokolac.
