The State Election Commission (SEC) rejected as unfounded the objection of the holder of the "Dr. Vujičić Božidar - Voice for Change" list, Božidar Vujičić, to the report of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) on the results of voting for councilors in the local elections in Budva on November 17.
Previously, the MEC did the same, rejecting Vujičić's plea.
In his complaint, he stated that the report of the MEC on the results of voting for councilors in the area of Budva municipality, which refers to the election of councilors, does not contain data on which candidates from the electoral lists received councilor mandates, but only data on how many votes each electoral list received, i.e. mandate.
"Because of the above, the Report does not represent the freely expressed will of the citizens in the democratic elections, because it is not known which candidates received the councilor mandate, but which election lists received the mandates, therefore they cannot even be recognized. The aforementioned Report assigns mandates to Electoral lists that are not holders of sovereignty, so they cannot get them, the holders of sovereignty are candidates for councilors on the election lists and only they can get mandates, which is not stated in the MEC Report on the results of voting for councilors in the area of the Municipality of Budva", stated Vujičić in his complaint.
Vujičić filed an appeal to the Constitutional Court against the decision of the SEC.
"The Commission is wrongly taking the position that I fundamentally dispute the Montenegrin model of the electoral system, because the Commission was elected by deputies who received their mandate through systemic corruption and discrimination and must protect the interests of employers, private deputies and councilors, not the citizens of Budva. In all of Europe, only in Montenegro and Serbia, the Constitutional Court does not want to protect the voting rights of the citizens, because the judges of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro are also elected by the deputies, who received secure mandates through systemic corruption and discrimination of voting rights, which is why judges of the Constitutional Court participate in systemic corruption and discrimination of voting rights to the detriment of the citizens of Montenegro," stated Vujičić in the complaint.
