The outgoing government in Kotor is trying in every way to pressure the members of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) to announce the final results of the local elections in that city, said the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
In a statement, the Kotor board of DPS stated that the pressure of the defeated structures in Kotor on the MEC had culminated.
They said that pressure is being exerted on the MEC in order for that body to once again enter the zone of lawlessness - which is why criminal charges were filed against their members on Wednesday.
"The outgoing group and now the former mayor of the municipality have been trying for days in every way to pressure the members of the MEC Kotor to announce the final results of the local elections, even though they themselves are aware that it is a serious criminal act," the statement says.
It is stated that there will be no announcement of any results during the proceedings before the Constitutional Court, which is still ongoing.
"Furthermore, there will be no announcement of the final results until the order of the State Election Commission to hold repeated elections at the polling stations in Prčanje and Mirac is complied with," the statement said.
The DPS appealed to the members of the Kotor MEC to, as they said, remain consistent with the implementation of the law and not to give in to the pressure of those who were written off by the citizens, and who would now use force and lawlessness to remain in power.
