The president of the Biram Bar party, Radomir Novaković Cakan, called on the local government to take responsibility and finally start investing in priority facilities that will permanently improve the lives of the citizens of Bar.
On the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Bar, he said that the Municipality has never had a bigger budget, and never less implementation of important projects, and he wonders where those projects are.
"This year, while Bar celebrates its Municipality Day and Liberation Day, we in the Biram Bar party, precisely out of reverence for what this date essentially symbolizes, feel the duty to point out the serious problems that burden us all. We have never had a bigger budget, never again money, and never less the implementation of important projects for Bar", reads the statement that Novaković delivered to the media.
He pointed out that, while another City Day is being celebrated, the solution of key infrastructure problems is still awaited, such as: "the road from the turn for the Sozina tunnel in Sutomor to Sušanje is in a bad condition, without a third lane that would solve the traffic jams ; the road to the Gulf that is waiting for the promised reconstructions - which are not happening; the sewerage and water supply network are in bad condition - or they do not exist: problems with the electricity supply that torment our fellow citizens...".
"Instead of concrete solutions for everyday problems of citizens, funds are spent on overpaid music stars... Of course, we are not against the organization of quality programs and concerts, but we ask the question: could they have been more expensive?!
During the season, we will continue to drive for hours in convoys towards Sutomore or Zaljevo, but that's why for the New Year we can sing and admire the stars whose royalties with production exceed all measure," Novaković pointed out.
He therefore called on the authorities to make an economic analysis of the profitability of such concerts.
"Are they, in fact, organized for someone's promotion while the citizens, literally and figuratively, are left to sing in the dark, because the city is less and less lit? was being worked on, built and created. The resources that were spent were visible at every step, and the Bar was being developed and improved. Unfortunately, today it is a different picture: much more is being spent, but not visible is nothing," believes Novaković.
Usually, the Municipal Day would be the day when construction would start or some facility of importance for all citizens would be opened, adds party leader Biram Bar and wonders if it is possible that this year's biggest project, at least in terms of the amount of funds invested, will be the New Year's concert.
"We call on the local government to take responsibility and finally start investing in priority facilities that will permanently improve the lives of the citizens of Bar. It's time for concrete steps! There should be songs and entertainment, but at reasonable costs and certainly not at the expense of solving key problems Happy Municipal Day, dear fellow citizens!", the announcement concludes.
