The Vice-President of the Assembly Zdenka Popović said today that the information that she spent more than three thousand euros on fuel for the year was not correct and that she requested an internal control in the parliamentary service to determine what it was all about.
Portal Dan announced two days ago that 1 euros were spent on the official vehicles of MPs from January 31 to October 16.906, and that by far the most money was spent on fuel by the Vice-President of the Parliament of Montenegro from Democrats Zdenka Popović, 3.194 euros. It was stated that they received the data from the Assembly.
"Given that information appeared in the media that I spent more than three thousand euros for the year, I responsibly claim that the information is not correct and can be proven by looking at my work and protocol obligations, which are available both on the Parliament's website and on my parliamentary email. At any moment, I am ready to submit all my work and protocol obligations to the interested public and MPs and the media and NGOs and every individual, in order to prove that I should not have been on the pillar of shame, without at the same time being asked by the media if the information is correct and that they asked to see where I spent 3,2 thousand," Popović said at the beginning of today's parliamentary session. She claims that she does all her private duties on foot, because she lives in the immediate vicinity of the Assembly, two minutes away, so she does not need a vehicle. "In case I don't have time to do some private duty, and I have to do it, I use a taxi," she said.
As she said, she fought against this kind of spending and abuse of state resources all her life.
"Given that the information went to the media, in agreement with the general secretary of the Assembly, I asked for an internal control to be carried out to determine what it was about. After the internal control, when it is determined what it is about, the public will be informed," announced Popović.
She thanked "some mimers" on social networks who said that she is "the fastest vice-president of the Assembly, that Gonzales is fast"... "That made me laugh in the flood and sea of very ugly, negative and misogynistic comments. I entered politics with honor and I intend to leave with honor when I do," said Popović.
Assembly President Andrija Mandić said that Popović is an unsuspecting prime minister.
"You are the unsuspecting Prime Minister of Montenegro. "When the 43rd Government in Montenegro was formed, the parliamentary majority at that time almost reached an agreement on that," Mandic said.
In Montenegro, after the then majority did not reach an agreement, in April 2022, the minority Government of Dritan Abazović was formed with the minority support of DPS.
