Although the ruling majority, on the eve of the reconstruction of the Government, asked the Bosniak Party, as a condition for coming into power, to dissolve the coalition with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Bijelo Polje, this did not happen, nor has there been any announcement that it will.
President of the Municipal Board of BS in Bijelo Polje Ernad Suljević He told "Vijesta" that this story was not opened after the reconstruction of the Government.
"There were no conversations, no one contacted me either from the local or state level. Everything remains the same," said Suljević, who after the reconstruction was elected Minister of Regional Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations.
The current Bijelo Polska government was constituted at the end of 2022, that is, at the beginning of 2023. It is represented in the local parliament by 19 councilors, of which 11 are from DPS, four from BS, and two each from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Social Democrats (SD). In the opposition are the parties of the former Democratic Front, which have five councilors, the Europe Movement now has four, the Democrats three, and the Socialist People's Party (SNP), the Citizens' Movement URA and United Montenegro each have two representatives.
On July 23, the Parliament of Montenegro voted for the reconstruction of the Government, in which BS received one vice-presidential and five ministerial positions.
The Democrats first demanded that BS dissolve the coalition with DPS before entering the Government.
Until 2020, BS was the traditional partner of DPS in power. That party returned to the executive power when he was prime minister Dritan Abazovic, and then in July after the reconstruction of the Government Milojko Spajić.
Head of the Democrats Parliamentary Club Boris Bogdanovic in June he said that the eventual participation of BS in the government can be discussed after he breaks up the coalition with DPS in Bijelo Polje, forms a government in that municipality with a majority from the state level, and crosses paths with the former system.
He then said that the Democrats clearly announced that they were against the entry of BS into power because that party "has not yet crossed paths with the former system, it has not clearly and precisely condemned the numerous wrongdoings of the former system and organized criminal groups, among other things, the writing of graffiti in Pljevlja and other municipalities by organized criminal groups with the aim of creating national and religious discord, but that she previously alluded to the winning parties of the August 30 election for the same reason. in 2020".
In July, two days before the vote on the reconstruction of the Government in the Assembly, the constituents of the previous ruling majority (Movement Evropa Sad, Democrats, NSD, DNP, SNP) in a joint statement invited all parties, "which are or will be part of the 44th Government of Montenegro Gore, to review the coalition cooperation with the leading parliamentary opposition at all levels no later than the adoption of the budget for 2025".
"Otherwise, this parliamentary majority will end cooperation with the parties that form the government with the leading parliamentary opposition," the joint statement stated.
The budget for 2025 is in the parliamentary procedure, it must be voted on by the end of the year.
Two days before the vote on the reconstruction of the Government in the Assembly, the Europe Now Movement, Democrats, NSD, DNP, and SNP in a joint statement called on all parties "that are or will be part of the 44th Government of Montenegro to reconsider the coalition cooperation with the leading parliamentary opposition at all levels no later than the adoption of the budget for 2025". "Otherwise, this parliamentary majority will end cooperation with the parties that form the government with the leading parliamentary opposition"
The majority party (PES, Democrats, NSD, DNP, SNP) did not answer the questions of "Vijesti" whether they have an announcement that BS will terminate cooperation with DPS at the local level and whether they will demand the dismissal of ministers from BS if they do not do so . BS is in power with DPS in Ulcinj as well, where there is one deputy on whom the government does not depend. Earlier, the authorities in Ulcinj told "Vijesta" that the request of the majority at the state level does not apply to them.
