The holder of the Demokrate-PES list Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić responded to the invitation of the holder of the "Budva our city" list, Nikola Jovanović, who invited all the political participants of the past local elections in Budva, with the exception of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), about the possibilities formation of government.

"At the meeting held with Mr. Nikola Jovanović, holder of the 'Budva our city' list, I clearly stated the positions of Democratic Montenegro related to the future exercise of power in this city. Our approach is principled, responsible and consistent, because we believe that Budva deserves power which will truly serve the citizens, not the interests of individuals or criminal structures. First and foremost, Democratic Montenegro will not enter into a coalition with the Social Democrats (SD), nor with any party that has not made a clear departure from individuals. accused or convicted of serious crimes in the field of organized crime and corruption. Unfortunately, political parties like the SD have not distanced themselves from such persons, thus showing that there is no real difference between their actions and the actions of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), she said. She emphasized that Budva, as a symbol of resistance and struggle for a just Montenegro, must not be held hostage by those who in the past used power for personal enrichment and the collapse of institutions.
"That is why Democratic Montenegro will not agree to any cooperation with those who do not share our principles and who do not recognize the need for an essential discontinuity with the practices of the DPS and structures close to them. Furthermore, I clearly emphasized that we will exercise power exclusively with political partners who are ready to formally and fundamentally distance themselves from the president of the Municipality of Budva, who is being prosecuted for serious crimes, as well as from persons connected to him. The government cannot be based on compromises that threaten the trust of citizens and the rule of law. Budva deserves people who will lead it on the path of development, transparency and responsibility, and not return to the practice of abuses and political corruption," stressed Kažanegra Stanišić.
The President of the Municipality of Budva, Milo Božović, has been in the Spuška cell of the Investigation Prison since mid-April last year under the charge of being part of a criminal group that smuggled tons of cocaine. Božović's defense rejects the charges brought against him by the Special State Prosecutor's Office.
Kažanegra Stanišić said that their goal is clear - to form a government that will be fully dedicated to the interests of the citizens of Budva.
"This means the fight against corruption, transparent management of public resources and the implementation of projects that will improve the quality of life of all its inhabitants. It also means cooperation with those who have the courage to break ties with old, compromised structures and who are ready to invest their political capital in building a better Budva. I tell the citizens of Budva that Democratic Montenegro remains consistent with its principles. We will not make any agreements that would undermine our struggle for a just, free and prosperous Budva trust is an obligation for us, not a political instrument," she concluded.
