Croatia will continue to stand by the Croats and will closely monitor political events in Montenegro, said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
The Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI) announced that Plenković and the party's president, Adrijan Vuksanović, discussed Montenegro's European path and the position of Croats in Montenegrin society in Zagreb.
The topic of discussion at the Banski dvori was also "unresolved issues that plague the Croatian community in Montenegro".
Vuksanović thanked Plenković for his "active engagement" and "strong support that is visible and significant for the small but strong and homogeneous community of Croats in Montenegro".
He said that "the Croatian national minority is essentially the bearer of Western ideas" and that it has always been "the one that gives the quality of European integration".
"Prime Minister Plenković said that Croatia will continue to stand by the Croats and will closely monitor political events in Montenegro, and that his government has a permanent interest in the Croatian community having the best possible status in society and enjoying all rights," HGI announced.
Vuksanović expressed his satisfaction with the frequent meetings and regular communication he has with the Prime Minister of Croatia.
