The development of Beran has been reduced to a minimum due to political instability, the failure to fulfill previous election promises as well as the lack of investments, announced candidate for councilor from the list "For Beran! With heart and knowledge! Dr. Miro Nedić" Ivan Šebek.
"Insufficiently developed local self-government, such as ours, is faced with major challenges that hinder the progress of the Municipality. The problems of our citizens are not solved but accumulate. The lack of a clear vision deprives us of what we strive for, which is a better life for all residents of Beran". Sebek said.
He said that the accumulated problems from year to year increase the debt of the Municipality on various grounds.
He added that the low employment rate, insufficient economic activity, bad political and economic environment have brought the municipality of Beran to an unenviable financial situation.
"By responsible management of the city, we will encourage key aspects to ensure development, financial sustainability of public companies, stronger connection between the local and rural environment, all for the benefit and well-being of the residents of our municipality. The need for transparency in work, efficiency and ethics in decision-making is essential. "Political stability provides us with security in order to use the economic and development potentials that we possess in the best possible way," the announcement reads.
Šebek said that solving the accumulated problems is a prerequisite for sending a strong message to future investors.
"By supporting the establishment and development of small and medium-sized enterprises, family businesses, women's entrepreneurship and crafts, we will create an environment to stop the emigration of our fellow citizens. Therefore, understanding the local needs of the population, utilizing the potential, developing tourism, better road infrastructure will give us the chance that in the coming period the municipality of Berane will be a place for a better life and a safe place to rest," Šebek concluded.
