Montenegro has the opportunity to speed up the process of accession negotiations with the European Union (EU) and thus become a success story for the Union and the Western Balkan region, said the country's president, Jakov Milatović.
He spoke with the representatives of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, Vice President Antonela Sberna, the new and previous rapporteur for Montenegro Marjan Šarec and Tonino Picula, as well as Tomas Weiss.
"Montenegro has an exceptional opportunity to speed up the process of accession negotiations and thus become a success story for the European Union and the Western Balkan region," said Milatović in a post on the X social network.
He said that one of the topics of discussion was the idea of opening an office of the European Parliament in Montenegro, which can significantly contribute to strengthening the parliamentary dimension of the integration process.
