The Democratic Party of Socialists will continue to respect the important anti-fascist dates of Beran's glorious past. We will confirm with words and deeds that we know how to protect freedom as the greatest value of humanity, said Marko Senić, candidate for councilor from the DPS list "For Berane! With heart and knowledge! Dr. Miro Nedić".
"The Democratic Party of Socialists inherits anti-fascism as a fundamental value of modern Montenegro. It is one of the important pillars of our party's program, a value without which there is no European Montenegro. Berane is an anti-fascist city, it is a city that heralds peace, recognition by the United Nations, and we further obligates us to inherit these ideas.
There is a Freedom Monument on Jasikovac, which reminds and warns us that the freedom that was given to us by one great generation is the foundation on which our society is built. This foundation has enabled us and our descendants to have a significantly better life than that of previous generations, and for that we are grateful to all those who sacrificed their lives for anti-fascism and freedom," Senić said in a press release.
He promised that they will try to cultivate and nurture the memory of all those people who laid down their lives through the partisan movement so that we can enjoy freedom today.
"People's heroes and Beran July 21 oblige us to protect a civil and European Montenegro. The DPS program guarantees that Montenegro will be a European, civil, multicultural, anti-fascist and multi-religious country. Only such a Montenegro has a European perspective. We will build such a society and such a country," concluded Senić.
