The coalition of Democratic Montenegro and the Europe Now Movement (PES) rejected the invitation of the leader of the "Budva our city" list, Nikola Jovanović, to hold a second meeting on Friday at 18 p.m.
"In the context of recent events in the municipality of Budva, we note with regret that the institution of local self-government is once again experiencing a landing similar to the year 2020, only today that process is not controlled by the DPS headquarters, but by the headquarters from Spuž. As we have previously announced on several occasions, partners in the negotiations on the formation of an efficient and responsible local administration in Budva, which the citizens have been hoping for for an unacceptably long time, the Democrats and the PES in Budva cannot and will not be a structure under the control of the DPS, as well as a structure under the control of the custody unit in Spuž," the statement of this coalition states.
They added that they remain attached and dedicated to the interests of the citizens of Budva.
"We are sure that all well-intentioned and free citizens share our opinion that Budva must be managed from the institutions of the city administration, and not from the informal centers of DPS or ZIKS in Spuz. Finally, we inform the public that our representatives will not respond to the call that signed by Nikola Jovanović," the statement reads.
