Saša Mujović, the leader of the list of the Europe Now Movement (PES) and the Democrats in the recently held local elections in Podgorica, announced today that in the coming days he will invite the newspaper "Za bolja Podgorica", which was supported by the president in the elections, to talks about the formation of the government in the capital. Jakov Milatović.
Mujović told Grad Television that he believes that the post of mayor belongs to the PES-Democrat list, saying that they will not deviate from that "democratic principle".
He added that part of the PES membership believes that "correlation and cooperation should be established with Milatović, regardless of differences and conflicts in the past".
"From that point of view, I think that they should be sent a very clear invitation and a very clear question whether they accept our fundamental postulates, and it will probably be in the coming days. If they accept, we can start negotiations, and if they insist that Luka Rakčević be the mayor, then we have nothing to discuss further. I think it is fair and correct to tell the citizens, not to waste their energy, but to prepare for new elections", Mujović explains.
Mujović said that, with respect for democratic principles, the post of mayor should belong to the Europe Now Movement, and that there is no way to give up on that. He adds that partners can only be those parties that are ready to work for the benefit of citizens, and not to overthrow the government after a few months and find fault with their coalition partners.
"Those with whom we want to form the government should show a degree of responsibility and that the government should be formed in a serious way. To form a city government that will seriously tackle the problems. To work dedicatedly, and not to be a government on paper and pro forma, where we will wait for each other to find some bad details and make that government a thing of the past after three or four months of work", says Mujović.
It is no coincidence that the mandate of one government lasts four years, says Mujović, and he says that from the position of mayor, he would strive to improve the living conditions of the citizens of Podgorica.
