For the last ten years, Berane has been led by people who are not worthy of the positions they perform and whose incompetence led to the destruction of the town, announced the president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković.
DPS announced that Živković spoke last night at the final convention in Berane of the list "For Berane! With heart and knowledge! Dr. Miro Nedić".
"DPS will confirm its strength in the upcoming elections as well. The city was destroyed in the previous ten years by an incompetent government. I am coming to a municipality that has always given Montenegro and is giving great people, who fought for the preservation and prosperity of Montenegro. In this address , I cannot but mention Abbot Mojsije Zečević who did a lot to unify Vasojević and other hill tribes with Montenegro.I must also mention Duke Miljan Vukov-Vešović and his son Miljan Vukov, Gavro Vuković, the first law graduate in Montenegro who has a rich biography during the time of the Principality and Kingdom of Montenegro. Unfortunately, after such great men of whom the whole of Montenegro is proud, Berane has been led for the last ten years by people who are not worthy of the positions they hold and whose incompetence led to the destruction of the city. Unlike them, the Democratic Party of Socialists never had a stepmotherly relationship with Berane," Živković pointed out.
He added that in 2019 alone, 13 million euros were invested in the municipality of Berane.
"And the total investments were much larger. We implemented the reconstruction of the road Berane-Polica-Petnjica, the Tifran tunnel, built a sports hall in Berane, the University Center. We also built the road Berane-Jelovica-Kolašin, which changed the development perspective of this region." Zivkovic said.
The president of DPS said that the current government, both at the state and local level, is incapable of realizing any project, which is why the standard of citizens, especially in the north, has dropped dramatically over the past years.
"The north has been completely neglected, all started investments have been stopped and the perspective of young people does not exist, which leads to accelerated emigration and extinction of these areas. The only way to return to political stability, which is a prerequisite for continued development, is the return of the Democratic Party of Socialists to power. That day is approaching, but in order to shorten the period of decline of Montenegro, we must continue to delegitimize the Government at all levels. We did it in all the elections this year, and we will do it in Berane on Sunday," concluded Živković.
