Holder of the electoral list of the Bosniak Party (BS) in the upcoming elections in Berane, Denis Adrovic, he said that it is incomprehensible that Bosniaks living in that city are not and do not have the right to employment in institutions founded by the municipality, and that the list he leads from December 9 is starting to change such practices.
"Only when we ask ourselves will we be able to deal with the tax problem," said Adrović in an interview with "Vijesta", answering the question of how they plan to reduce the municipality's tax debts.
Adrović said that for a possible post-election coalition, they are open to talking with everyone who is interested in the development of Beran.
"We believe that the time has come for Berane to turn to development projects, where of course Bosniaks as a people will be participants in the process," said Adrović.
The elections in Berane will be held on November 8.
What result do you expect in the elections in Berane?
The Bosniak party is running independently in the local elections in Berane, and this is an indication that we firmly believe in a good election result.
We have a good and quality team of people, who are ready to make a full contribution to the development of Beran.
The Bosniak party, as an authentic representative of the Bosniak people, wants to be the creator of future processes in Berane. This is a multi-ethnic city, we want to make a contribution to make it so in the future and to finally open the institutions of the system to representatives of the Bosniak people.
According to the results of the last census, the number of inhabitants in Berane decreased compared to that of 2011. What projects do you plan to start in order to stop this negative trend?
Emigration of the population is a pressing problem for Aries. We believe that without the serious involvement of the state, the emigration trend will not stop. However, we cannot help but notice that there has been no serious economic activity in Berane for a long time. This has brought our city to the ranks of the poorer communities in the north, and it is time to change this practice.
The municipality of Berane is among the municipalities with the largest tax debts. How do you plan to reduce debt?
Local administration and all local institutions were closed to members of the Bosniak nation in the previous period. It is simply incomprehensible that Bosniaks living in Berane are not and do not have the right to employment in institutions founded by the municipality. From December 9, we are starting to change this practice. Only when we ask ourselves will we be able to deal with the tax problem.
What do you think should be done with Beran airport and airstrip? A street racing problem almost led to a fatal accident? Do you think that the runway should be closed or do you have a plan for its valorization?
Berane airport is certainly a chance for the development of the entire north, especially now that we have a highway. I think that the state must start the process of valorizing the airport. I see a huge opportunity there.
How do you plan to solve the problem of the closed bus station in Berane?
We have come to a situation where Berane, as the regional center of the north, does not have a bus station, although we know that Berane is a key municipality in terms of traffic connections for at least six or seven other municipalities. This problem must be solved in partnership with the Government of Montenegro. The Bosniak party is ready to be the initiator of the dialogue in order to solve this problem.
How do you plan to solve the problem of private entrepreneurs who are the owners of premises slated for demolition due to the construction of the Lidl market? What measures would you take to help their survival on the market?
This newly created problem is an indicator that the state should not enter into any arrangements without previously resolving issues related to the rights of private entrepreneurs.
With which parties would you form a possible post-election coalition?
We are open to talk with anyone who is interested in the development of Beran. We believe that the time has come for Berane to turn to development projects, where of course Bosniaks as a people will be participants in the process. We want to finally end the practice of discrimination against Bosniaks.
What are the first steps your coalition will take if it takes over the management of Berane?
Our priority now is a good election result. We believe in a good result, we have an excellent response from our citizens. We are ready to offer a new development concept.
