President of the Mojkovac URE and councilor in the Mojkovac Municipal Assembly Boško Laketić announced that the current government at the state level has shown a "shameful attitude towards Mojkovac", because in the Budget Proposal of the Government of Montenegro for 2025 there are no significant funds for capital projects crucial for the development of Mojkovac. but also the north of Montenegro.
"It is really surprising that those who cover the most important state functions, and whose party colleagues are the holders of power at the local level, have such a shameful attitude towards Mojkovac," said Laketić, as reported by GP URA.
He states that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić promised a capital budget in the amount of 900 million euros, and that in the end a capital budget of 280 million euros was reached, "of which only a fraction is planned for Mojkovac".
"Thus, Prime Minister Spajić once again deceived the citizens of Montenegro, which, unfortunately, no longer surprises anyone. To make the irony even greater, it was Spajić's government that introduced the Ministry for the Development of the North - if this is the development they are offering us, let them do it now abolish the aforementioned Ministry and stop insulting the intelligence of the citizens of Mojkovac and Montenegro," said Laketić.
He added that in the budget proposal of the Government of Montenegro, there are no significant funds for the continuation of the construction of the "Žarski" ski resort. He states that the state has so far invested about 50 million euros in the construction of that ski resort, and that according to the Government's projections, another 29,5 million is needed for its completion.
"At this rate, we won't have completed the construction of the Žarski ski resort by 2050, and the tens of millions invested will continue to deteriorate year by year. Spajić's government has shown in action that it does not care about Mojkovac and by the fact that the Ministry of Justice, which led by Bojan Božović, announced the abandonment of the planned prison in Mojkovac is in a desperate state today, and is currently the biggest shame of our city. In previous years, the local self-government expected that the state would start the construction of that road, which is why no investment was made in the rehabilitation of the existing one, and now if it is clear that there is nothing to build a prison in Mojkovac, it must be one of the priorities. It's really discouraging that any new government can just give up on a project that was planned for one municipality and move it to another," Laketić points out.
He said that the Mojkovac URA will not watch all this idly and that through the URA Civic Movement parliamentary group in the Parliament of Montenegro, it will propose and support all those amendments to the Budget for 2025 that will enable the development of Mojkovac, such as the continuation of the construction of the "Žarski" ski resort. , the reconstruction of the road Mojkovac - Slatina, the construction of a replica of the medieval Brskov, as well as the construction of the road from the Polje side towards Sinjajevina (Sinjavina) - to Katuna Ckar.
"Unlike such a bad state capital budget, the Mojkovac municipality's proposed budget is a record, it is almost 30 percent higher than the previous year and amounts to almost 10 million euros, which certainly represents a significant step forward compared to the previous period," Laketić points out.
He states that the local budget includes recently adopted social measures at the last session of the Mojkovac Municipal Assembly, which increased the allowances for newborns from 300 to 1.000 euros for the first child, from 300 to 1.500 euros for the second, and for twins, the third and each subsequent child from 300 , that is, 400 euros to 2.000 euros, the introduction of a 50 percent subsidy for the stay and nutrition of children in kindergarten, as well as financial support for elementary school students up to the ninth grade who attend school in rural areas in the amount of 30 euros per month per child and 50 euros per child for families who are beneficiaries of material security.
Laketić adds that compared to the previous period, significantly more funds have been allocated for the development of agriculture, for larger scholarships for students, that the budget for sports is 40 percent higher, that a special emphasis is placed on the organization of the 50th jubilee Mojkovac film autumn.
"The largest part of the Budget for 2025 is certainly planned for capital projects, in the amount of over 5 million euros, the largest part of which goes to the reconstruction of the City Square and to the separation of fecal and atmospheric sewage. While the rest of the funds will be invested in rehabilitation and maintenance of local roads and city streets, waterworks in Slatina, Štitarica and Rudnica, to the construction of a balloon hall near the stadium, as well as for numerous other smaller projects," concluded Laketić.
