Executive Board of Podgorica PES: Our position is unique and unequivocal

The executive board of the City Committee of the Europe now Podgorica Movement reacted to the text entitled "Mujović calls only Milatović" published yesterday on the Vijesti portal.

We transmit their response in full:

"In order to objectively inform the public and maintain correct and professional relations with your media house, the Executive Board of the Europe Now Movement - Podgorica expresses a sharp protest due to the inaccurate allegations published in the text "Mujović only calls Milatović", published on December 7.12.2024, XNUMX on your portal. Specifically, the text presents untruths about the alleged lack of a unified position of the members of the IO PES Podgorica in connection with the negotiations on the formation of the city government.

We want to clearly point out that the position of IO PES Podgorica is unique and unequivocal: it is necessary to take an active negotiating role in order to justify the trust of the citizens of Podgorica and to use the time we have effectively. Accordingly, we plan to start negotiations with representatives of the List for a Better Podgorica led by Jakov Milatović. Our key demands are a stable government with a full mandate and the position of mayor, which is in line with the democratic principles we advocate. These views are also shared with our coalition partners from Democratic Montenegro.

Also, we categorically deny the allegations about any talks or readiness for the model of two-year rotation of the mayor's mandate. Such information was not the subject of discussion at the IO session, nor does it represent our position.
