Božo Premović, the holder of the list of Democrats in the elections in Berane, said that the party has shown that they can go out on their own, as well as that they lack very few votes for the fifth mandate.
"I want to thank you for every vote, I believe that every vote was given from the heart, you showed us that you want me to be part of the government. We have a difficult period ahead of us, I hope that as you gave us the trust earlier, that we will have your of trust for the next four years," said Premović.
According to the preliminary results, this party won four mandates.
The leader of the Democrats, Aleksa Bečić, said that if Njegoš's proverb "a hard nut is a strange fruit, don't break it, but break its teeth" can be applied somewhere, it can be applied to the Democrats.
He said that the Democrats in Berane won 20, 30 percent more votes than last year in the parliamentary elections when they appeared together with the Civil Movement (GP) URA.
"We lack about a dozen votes for the fifth term. We have shown that this is an indomitable party, which has a stable electorate both at the local and state level. Our goal was a double-digit result, we recorded the result despite strong competition," said Bečić.
He pointed out that this result gives reason for optimism.
"You see now, the Democrats have kept the mandates they had in the elections in five municipalities (Gusinje, Andrijevica, Berane, Podgorica, Budva) for almost the entire mandate. We have an army of people who are following us, we are reaching our mandates with clean hands," said Bečić. .
"I said to my colleagues from the opposition, don't get together, the parties from the state level won about 80 percent of the mandates. After the elections in Budva, there was a lot of jealousy and dependence," he added.
He said that he was looking forward to a stable government in Berane.
"Which will last four years, where we will participate significantly," says Bečić.
"We continue together, thank you for defending a wonderful idea, the Democrats have shown how to preserve the civil, European and patriotic character", concluded Bečić.
