The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, said that at tomorrow's session of the Council for Security and Defense, he will demand that the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Zoran Lazarević, be given back all his powers.
He said this to journalists after the ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Danilovgrad.
"I am a man who finds it difficult to change his views. I think the public already knows that. The Council is made up of the presidents of the state, the Assembly and the Government. I also said somewhere earlier that the Minister of Defense disqualified himself from future invitations from my side to attend the sessions The Government is represented by the President of the Government. Tomorrow we will continue the session of the Council, and I will ask that we order the Minister of Defense to return full powers to the Chief of the General Staff as set by the Council for Defense and Security," he said. answering questions about whether Krapović and Lazarević were invited to tomorrow's session, as well as what is his position on the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff.
As he added, Montenegro has a Chief of General Staff until June next year and he must represent the Army of Montenegro in the country and abroad.
"I have repeated several times - the Minister of Defense cannot assume the role of the Defense and Security Council. Things are very clear and I expect the other two members to act in accordance with the law and the Constitution," Milatović said.
