State President Jakov Milatović said that during the campaign for local elections in Podgorica, it was inappropriate that the leader of the list of the Europe Now Movement (PES) and Democrat Saša Mujović commented that he would not cooperate with the "For a better Podgorica" coalition, which consists of Porket za Podgorica, close to the head of state. and Civic Movement (GP) URA, but also that it is good that such an attitude has changed.
He said this in response to journalists' questions after the ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Danilovgrad.
"As far as I am informed, the negotiation platform of that coalition (For a better Podgorica) was presented to the public, as it was said. Also, they want to take responsibility for future processes in Podgorica and, accordingly, an integral part of the negotiation platform is the post of mayor. That is what I know. Certainly, I leave it to some future political discussions. Time will tell, but those are questions for the people of Porket and for Luka Rakčević himself," said Milatović.
As he added, he stood behind the list "For a better Podgorica" because he believed that it had the best candidate for mayor, Luka Rakčević, but also that it had "the best program for a much more dynamic development of Podgorica".
"The government should be created, the government needs much more than that list, so the talks should definitely take place," he pointed out.
When asked whether Podgorica will get power by the end of the year, Milatović replied that he thinks that "it would be good if it gets it", and that it would not be good to go to new elections.
