I am looking forward to everything that is happening on Montenegro's European path, because it gives an incentive to others in the region, said the Serbian ambassador to Montenegro, Nebojša Rodić.
The Government announced that the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić met with Rodić in Podgorica.
"The great positive developments of Montenegro on its way to the European Union are also an incentive for others in the region," was the message from the meeting between Spajić and Rodić, according to the Government announcement.
Spajić said that they are continuously focused on the ambitious European agenda, in order to close all chapters by the end of 2026.
"The move of any individual country on the road to the EU is a big step for the entire region, which strives for a common goal," Spajić said.
Rodić pointed out that he is witnessing beautiful things in Montenegro.
"I look forward to everything that is happening on Montenegro's European path, because it gives impetus to others in the region. Montenegro has made the most progress, it will soon close certain chapters with the EU. We expect that something will be started in January with the negotiating chapters of Serbia," he said. Rodić.
He announced that Serbia is intensively preparing for the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027, inviting Montenegro to register its participation.
"It is predicted that four million tourists will visit EXPO 2027 from May 15 to August 15, 2027. Montenegro should feel the benefits of that, as well as the entire region. Participation in EXPO 16 will begin on December 2025 this year, and I believe that Montenegro will find an interest in doing so. I invite the Government to make such a decision," said Rodić.
The Government announcement states that the Montenegrin Prime Minister "once again congratulated Serbia on the entire undertaking, which will make Belgrade the world capital of innovation in 2027, stating that Montenegro will use the opportunity to present itself and realize the benefits offered by this unique world manifestation".
"Prime Minister Spajić and Ambassador Rodić stated that Montenegro and Serbia should strengthen cooperation, especially in the economy, tourism, and traffic," the announcement concludes.
