After the Government of Montenegro adopted at today's session the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance (PIO), which implies an increase in the minimum pension to 450 euros for proportionate pensioners, the Citizens' Movement URA announced that they welcome the Government's decision.
In a statement, GP URA pointed out that this decision was the result of great public pressure to correct this injustice and the initiative of their parliamentary group led by Miloš Konatar, who repeatedly proposed the aforementioned legal solution in the Parliament of Montenegro.
"With this, the state will finally help one of the most vulnerable social groups, which has been in an extremely unfavorable material status for a long time, because the majority of beneficiaries of proportionate pensions receive pensions in the amount of less than 200 euros, which due to the extreme rise in prices is not enough even for the most basic life needs". stand out from GP URA.
They state that a year ago they proposed the adoption of this law, after which beneficiaries of proportional pensions would also have a minimum pension of 450 euros, and after which the Parliament of Montenegro adopted a Conclusion obliging the Government to propose a legal solution by March 2024 at the latest to increase proportional pensions.
"Even though the Government's decision was late, justice will finally be served, so even the corresponding pensioners will finally have a minimum pension of 450 euros from January 1, 2025, after we believe that all the deputies in the Parliament of Montenegro support the proposal of this law," they concluded. are from GP URA.
