Whether Croatia will support the closure of all four chapters of Montenegro in the negotiations with the European Union (EU) by the end of the year is not yet certain, given the allegations that it may block one chapter.
According to unofficial information from Television News, the closing of Chapter 31 - Foreign, Security and Defense Policy could be questionable.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) expects that an intergovernmental conference will be held in the coming days, and the final decision rests with the member states.
Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI) MP Adrijan Vuksanović said in the program Načisto on Television Vijesti that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić gave the House of Culture in Tivat to Croatia under pressure.
The Government of Montenegro announced yesterday that the "Josip Marković" Cultural Center in Tivat is being ceded to Croatia.
"Today, in an informal conversation, I experienced that some people were angry with me because yesterday I thanked Prime Minister Plenković (Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković) and his Government and numerous Montenegrin citizens who already two, three years ago when there was an attempt by the local authorities in Tivat to kicked us out of that house, stood up for it and made sure that it didn't happen. And then there were some comments about why you didn't thank the Prime Minister of Montenegro. I would be happy to thank him for that, but how to thank him when I see that it is the result of pressure, and not of good wishes," said Vuksanović in the Načisto show.
When asked by the editor and host of the Načisto show, Petr Komnenić, whether this is an announcement that Croatia will come to the realization of the demands in the negotiations through methods of pressure, perhaps blackmail and coercion, Vuksanović said that Croatia is a sovereign country.
"She strongly supports that part of Montenegro that aspires to be in the West, but I don't know why we are surprised tonight if we know that the head of the Assembly is a man who has the official title of Chetnik duke, who does not recognize Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the genocide in Srebrenica." Vuksanovic said.
Member of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) Bogdan Božović said that he would not say that the relations between Croatia and Montenegro during the DPS were so idyllic and so good.
"If they were as good and idyllic as they try to present themselves, I guess they would have solved some of these issues," said Božović in the show Načisto.
