By changing the leadership of the National Security Agency (ANB), the night before the European Union's (EU) decision to close four chapters, including chapter 31 (foreign, security and defense policy), the national security system is once again in a state of emergency, it was announced today. from the Cabinet of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
"This kind of action by the Government, after the legal and institutional chaos we witnessed during the election of the police director and the illegal attempt to replace the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, further confirms that there is an ongoing attempt to privatize the security sector and put it in the function of party and not state politics. Appointing a person without any experience in the security sector, which is recommended only by the cousin-godfather relationship with high-ranking PES officials, can be characterized not only as a continuation of bad practice, but also as a blow to our national security in moments of great international challenges," the announcement states.
Milatović's cabinet added that the Law on ANB stipulates that national security affairs, which include, among other things, the protection of the constitutionally established legal order, independence, sovereignty and security of Montenegro must not be entrusted to persons who are citizens of foreign countries.
"We invite the competent authorities to determine whether in this case the management of the ANB was given to a person who does not meet the legal requirements. Montenegro, as a credible NATO member and a country that should become part of the common security and defense policy of the EU, at the head of the Agency for National security must have a competent professional chosen on the basis of professional references," the announcement reads.
The government stated last night that Boris Milić is no longer the director of ANB, after he resigned.
Milić previously spoke with Spajić last night, who told him that he plans to fire him.
Spajić proposed Ivica Janović, an entrepreneur from Budva, as acting director of ANB.
"Vijesti" has learned that Janović is a cousin of the MP of the Europe Now Movement (PES) Tonćij Janović, the husband of the president of the Management Board of the Sea Dobr Zvezdana Janović, and that he is engaged in business.
Ivica Janović is the half-brother of Tonći Janović, who is the godfather of Branko Krvavac, the head of Spajić's cabinet.
