The Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj announced today that he is satisfied and proud that the Albanian Forum made a significant contribution to the closing of three negotiating chapters between Montenegro and the European Union (EU).
"I am pleased and proud that as a political entity that is also a constituent of the Government, we made a significant contribution to the closing of three negotiation chapters both from the position of the Ministry of Public Administration (MJU) and from the positions of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Deputy Prime Minister," Dukaj wrote on the social network X.
He added that he congratulated "all colleagues, former and present, who invested enormous effort in the process of our European integration".
"We regret that Montenegro failed to close another chapter that was almost certain - until our country made wrong decisions, which do not correspond to European political customs, practices and behavior. We, as the Albanian Forum and as members of the Government, warned that such decisions will have serious consequences for the most important state policy - European integration. Unfortunately, our warnings were not heeded... Told by the experience of social wisdom - the time has come," said Dukaj.
He said that this should be a lesson to all political actors of Montenegro, especially those who bear the responsibility of leaders and first people in the state-political architecture.
"There must not be a single wrong step on the European path," concluded Dukaj.
Last night, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU Member States (COREPER II) approved the closing of three chapters in the negotiations between Montenegro and the EU.
These are chapters 7 (intellectual property law), 10 (information society and media) and 20 (entrepreneurship and industrial policy). Chapter 31 (foreign, security and defense policy) did not get the "green light" at COREPER II.
According to the unofficial information of "Vijesti", the closure of Chapter 31 was blocked only by Croatia.
