The Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić announced tonight that he is inviting the opposition to a meeting.
He said on the X social network that it is not true that the Law on Montenegrin Citizenship will be changed without a general consensus.
"The whole point of Barometer 26 is that identity issues can only be solved with the involvement and support of all social actors. That's why on Thursday after returning to the country from Brussels - I invite the opposition to a meeting, to eliminate all dilemmas, in the manner in which we reached an agreement regarding organizing of the census," wrote Spajić.
The president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, announced earlier today that a constitutional coup had taken place.
"What they are aiming for is passing a law on Montenegrin citizenship, and this coup aims to form a Constitutional Court that will work according to the orders of the majority. Spajić (Milojko, President of the Government of Montenegro) is responsible for what happened and what will happen." and Mandić (Andrija, President of the Republic of Montenegro)", said Živković at a press conference in the Parliament of Montenegro.
Before the press conference, a smoke bomb was thrown at the session of the Constitutional Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro, after the vice president of the Committee and deputy of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Nermin Abdić said that he and his colleagues would not allow the session to continue.
Despite the throwing of a smoke bomb, the session continued and conclusions were adopted to publish an advertisement for the election of two judges of the Constitutional Court (US) elected by the Assembly, and to talk to the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, so that he publishes an advertisement for the election of two more judges US for which he is responsible.
It is not known who activated the smoke bomb, and the video shows that the smoke started coming out in the part of the hall where part of the DPS deputies are sitting. At one point, the deputy of that party, Abaz Dizdarević, picked up a lit smoke bomb and placed it on the table.
On the agenda of the session was "consideration of issues related to the announcement of a public call for the election of judges of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro".
After the smoke bomb was thrown, the DPS deputies entered the plenary hall for the session of the Parliament of Montenegro, after which the Speaker of the Parliament Andrija Mandić took a break.
The session continued after an hour, and Mandić then read the conclusions of the Constitutional Committee and stated that he had noted the termination of office of Constitutional Court Judge Dragana Đuranović.
MPs from DPS and Social Democrats (SD) chanted "treason" and hit the table in the parliament.
Mandic said that he was adjourning the session and that work would continue tomorrow.
DPS MP Oskar Huter, after the break, told Mandić that he "has another country".
