The Europe Now Movement (PES), Democratic Montenegro and For the Future of Podgorica are asking the Movement for Podgorica to first give a guarantee that they will not agree with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), and that an official invitation for negotiations will follow.
"We will inform our colleagues from the Movement for Podgorica that we will not negotiate with them until they finish their negotiations with the DPS and clearly determine that they have a sincere will with us to form a majority. After a clear determination follows as a guarantee that they will not negotiate with the DPS ", will be followed by an official invitation for negotiations of entities that have 27 councilors in the current convocation," states the joint statement of the coalitions PES-Democrats and For the Future of Montenegro.
They add that the government in Podgorica or anywhere else "is not just the sum of the number of councilors, but the sum of the values we share, the principles and the vision we have offered to the citizens of Podgorica".
"If we are on the same side of those values, they are welcome to constitute the government together based on exclusively democratic principles. We will call on the Movement for Podgorica to clearly define its political direction and demonstrate in action its commitment to values that guarantee the credibility and trust of citizens. Only on the basis of those values and mutual trust, it is possible to build a government that will work in the interest of all citizens of Podgorica," the announcement concludes.
