Spajić: The termination of Đuranović's mandate was not an unprecedented case, the same situation was when Drašković retired

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić said that the termination of the mandate of Constitutional Court Judge Dragana Đuranović was not a precedent and that the same situation happened when Judge Dragoljub Drašković retired.

"That happened in 2021 and we had URA representatives who voted for one such decision to terminate the mandate of Judge Drašković. These are the people who protested today and talked about the constitutional coup. These are the people who voted for, and they from the General Assembly of the URA were still talking about it being a constitutional coup. It was not a coup for the then URA in 2021," Spajić said.

He also said that the representative of the European Union, Boris Mugoša, said that retirement according to the Law on PIO is the only right thing, and that he agrees with that.

He also said that it is not good that a letter was not sent to judge Milorad Gogić earlier.

"If the Constitutional Court rules that this was not constitutional, we have no problem with that. I call on the opposition once again to elect the judges of the Constitutional Court with the 81st MP. Can Montenegro be so broad? Here's another hand to the opposition. No problem, I don't have that kind of vanity. We have over 40 laws to adopt," said Spajić.

He added that they have the obligation of a growth plan and that it is necessary to adopt a spatial plan and other acts.

"For SEPA, we have a couple of laws that we have to adopt. We still have many European obligations that we have to adopt. We also have to adopt the budget. We don't want citizens to suffer as a result of all this," he said.

He added that whether the procedure is correct "should be decided by the Constitutional Court".

"The majority says one thing, the opposition another. This is legitimate, both of them are representatives of the people. They asked me if I don't sleep all night and tweet at 7 in the morning. We are here for compromise, we are here for talks, but we will not allow the parliament to be blocked.
