Member of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) Bogdan Božović called on the coalition "For a better Podgorica" to openly announce if they have decided to form a coalition with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the capital.
"The question before the citizens of Podgorica and Montenegro is simple: Will Jakov Milatović, who defeated Milo Đukanović with our votes in the presidential elections, now hand the capital over to the same Đukanović? We were waiting for the famous platform that was supposed to be the foundation of the future government, and we got it. When the negotiations between the PES, the Democrats, the ZBPG and councilor Jakov Milatović finally started, there was a turnaround," he announced.
He said that the "Za bolja Podgorica" list suddenly conditions the negotiations on the situation at the state level, announcing that they will not negotiate with those who, as they claim, are destroying the Constitution. However, as he said, "a logical question arises" – is DPS a desirable partner in that case.
He says that this party "violated the Constitution and laws countless times", while "under their rule, criminal activities flourished, while they controlled state institutions".
Božović said that citizens deserve the truth.
"The old saying goes: 'It doesn't snow to cover a mountain, but for every beast to show its tracks'. If they decided to form a coalition with the DPS, let them announce it clearly and openly, without contortions and smoke bombs. Citizens deserve the truth, and not political games behind closed doors," the statement reads.
