The list holder of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the local elections in Podgorica, Nermin Abdić, said that he was proud that the party did not trample on political principles and did not form unprincipled coalitions.
"I can tell you that tonight I am very proud. I am proud above all that we implemented everything I told you during the election campaign. We did not let you down, we did not betray you, we did not trample on political principles and we did not form unprincipled coalitions. What I can also tell you to say is that we continue our political life as councilors of opposition status, but councilors who will certainly work in the interest of the citizens of this city," said Abdić.
The coalition agreement on the formation of the government in Podgorica between the Movement for Podgorica and the coalitions of the Europe Sad Movement (PES) and the Democrats and "For the Future of Podgorica" was signed tonight.
It was agreed that the new mayor of Podgorica will be Saša Mujović (PES), and the president of the Assembly of the capital will be Jelena Borovinić Bojović. The deputy mayors will be Nađa Ljiljanić (Movement for Podgorica) and Boris Spalević in front of the Democrats.
Abdić said that the city "must move forward".
"And I am sure that we will implement the majority of our ideas that we have offered to the citizens of Podgorica, through our election program, so that life in this city will be as good and high-quality as possible. And one more thing, my friends - everything goes as you can see and the story goes like this and the way it is, and the people of Podgorica remember it well, very much, but what I repeat, I am very proud from the beginning - the words remain, and we will never trample on them," said Abdić.
