Sympathizers and activists of two warring factions of the former united Democratic Front, "For the future of Budva - Mladen Mikijelj" who occupied the assembly hall and "Budva our city - Nikola Jovanović" who filled the offices and corridors of the office of the President of the Municipality of Budva on the first floor of the building, ten minutes after midnight they parted ways.
There were no excesses, and inspectors and members of the Budva Security Department in civilian clothes were around the Municipality building to prevent escalation. Both sides made mutual accusations that among the activists of the opposite camp there are persons of security interest. Jovanović that there are members of organized criminal groups in the assembly hall, and Mikijelj that there are armed members of a drug crime group upstairs.
The constitutive session of the Budva Municipal Assembly will not continue today, Vijesti was unofficially told.
After the mandates have been verified, on the agenda is the election of the President of the Municipal Assembly, Petar Odžić from the European Union. He was proposed by eight of the nine councilors of Jovanović's political group. The proposal was not signed by Savo Medigović, normally the chairman of the session, as the oldest councilor.
Blažo Rađenović, councilor of the Citizens' Movement URA, also the leader of that party in Budva, also signed, and Odžić himself signed the candidacy before the European Union, as well as Jovo Perović, the councilor of that party. That is a total of 11 councilors, which is the smallest number, that is, a third of the councilors, in order for the proposal to be included in the agenda.
With the appointment of Odžić, the parliament is constituted and Budva practically has a functional government, since the mandate of the current president of the municipality, Milo Božović, expires in two years.
The election of Odžić depends on the votes of seven councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists, since the coalitions "For the Future of Budva" and "Demokrste - PES" declared that they would be against it.
Odžić can't even count on the votes of two councilors from the group of voters "Mokret za Grad - Đorđe Zenović".
