The club of councilors of Democratic Montenegro in the Budva Municipal Assembly announced today that it will not attend the continuation of yesterday's session of the Budva Municipal Assembly.
They stated in the statement that "by being absent, they will enable the citizens to clearly see the new 'Spuska' coalition in action".
They also said that if the holder of the "Budva our city" list, Nikola Jovanović, wants to form a government with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), the Social Democrats (SD), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Citizens' Movement URA "and thus deceive the citizens who voted for him, as far as we're concerned, we knew that and it's no surprise for us."
"All we can say on this occasion is good luck to everyone, and we would like to tell the citizens who voted in support of Jovanović and his false promises to think carefully next time before putting their ballot in the box. As far as Democratic Montenegro is concerned, no manipulations by the new ideologically complete opposition of the Jovanović, DPS, SD, SDP and URA coalition will pass. If they want, they can continue the session whenever they want and finish their backstage agreements, and we will simply despise them, because that is the only thing they deserve," the Democratic Councilors' Club in the Budva Municipal Assembly said in a statement.
They said that even last night none of the officials or councilors of Democratic Montenegro prevented the meeting from taking place, and that the only persons of security interest who were in the building of the Municipality of Budva were in the office of the president of the municipality, at the invitation of Nikola Jovanović.
"So the manipulations of Jovanovic and the DPS about hostage crises and some miracles that are happening simply will not pass. Due to the purposefully created narrative about the alleged chaos, i.e. artificial noise and uproar, especially by those who would like to form an unprincipled government and return the DPS/SD /SDP in power in Budva, we made the decision not to attend the continuation of the session, but by being absent, we will enable the citizens to clearly see the new 'Spuska' coalition in action," the announcement reads. Club of councilors Democrats in SO Budva.
They also stated that they expect the new president of the SO, Petar Odžić, to "spend the first working day after the election at the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) in Spuz, on consultations on the vision of Budva's development strategy with the still current president of the Municipality, accused of the most serious criminal acts in the field of organized crime".
"If there is a question about security in Budva and Montenegro, I can consult Zoran Lazović, he is the right address when it comes to these topics. After all, part of the 'Spuška' coalition has been listening to him for years on that topic, and certainly not Božović and to his courier Jovanović, it will be the first time that they cooperate with Lazović," states the announcement of the Club of Councilors of the Democrats in SO Budva.
It was practically impossible to hold the continuation of the session of SO Budva yesterday, because in the hall there were sympathizers of the coalitions "For the future of Budva" and Democrats-Pokret Evropa sad (PES) who had occupied council seats.
On the other hand, sympathizers of the "Budva our city" coalition gathered in the office of the President of the Municipality of Budva on the first floor of the building.
Sympathizers and activists of two warring factions of the former united Democratic Front, "For the future of Budva - Mladen Mikijelj" who occupied the assembly hall and "Budva our city - Nikola Jovanović" who filled the offices and corridors of the office of the President of the Municipality of Budva on the first floor of the building, ten minutes after midnight they parted ways.
It is expected that if there is a session of the Budva Council of Ministers, Petar Odžić from the European Union will be proposed as the head of the local parliament.
As told to Vijesti, the proposal for Odžić to be the head of the parliament was signed by the councilors of "Budva naš grad", the European Union and the URA, which number 12 councilors.
In order for it to be voted, they must receive the support of, most likely, seven councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
At a press conference last night, Jovanović called on the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, and the President of the Assembly, Andrija Mandić, to declare a state of emergency in the Municipality of Budva.
He said at the same conference that State Secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and Vice President of Democratic Montenegro Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić "instead of preventing perpetrators and lawbreakers, she was actually inviting those individuals to storm the Budva Municipal Assembly hall today and disrupt its work."
