The President of the Main Board of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and representative of the European Union, Mirko Stanić, announced today that it would be best if the parties that, instead of the Deputy President of the SDP and the holder of the list of the European Union in Budva, Petar Odžić, elect the Speaker of the Assembly Andrije Mandić in the next elections one column.
"Let them call it the fifth. And those who abuse the already weak, under-capacitated and poorly managed security sector for their own political gain, free citizens will very quickly give a strong response," Stanić pointed out in the announcement.
Stanić also said that Odžić has an impressive biography, reputation, education and exceptional results in local administration.
He assessed that these days the example of Budva shows what the abolition of democracy in a European state looks like.
"According to the opinion of Vučić's satellite parties in Montenegro - only they have the right to be in power, so even if they don't have a sufficient number of councilors, then they will interpret the will of the citizens," Stanić pointed out.
He added that "in addition to all that, he adds, there is also the assistance of the Police Administration, which allowed unauthorized persons to enter the building and occupy the Assembly hall during the continuation of the session."
"We in Montenegro, as well as our Yugoslav brothers, paid dearly for the 'happenings of the people' from the time of the breakup of Yugoslavia. The behavior of the parties in the state government in Budva has nothing to do with the honor, morality and traditional Montenegrin chivalry that many of them refer to." Stanic said.
According to him, "the miserable struggle and the cowardly abuse of the security sector for their political goals will be their identity card in the next elections".
"If there are any at all, because it's obvious that they can't win anymore, so we wouldn't be surprised if they also ban voting, when they're already preventing councilors from voting freely against Mandić's will. We're glad that it's finally been announced and that the political positions are clear in Montenegro," said Stanić.
