Bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and Croatia will begin on January 27, and they will discuss open issues between the two countries.
Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, who was in Montenegro today, thanked his Montenegrin colleague Ervin Ibrahimović for allowing him to visit the school ship "Jadran".
Grlić Radman repeated that in Croatia they consider the school ship Jadran to be theirs.
"Because it was registered in the home port of Split and was sent here for overhaul and was never returned to the home port of Split. The Jadran ship is an open issue, and we also discussed other open issues that will be on the table in 14 days. The state secretaries of both countries will coordinate all open issues, among other things, on compensation for the inmates, returning the name to the pool in Kotor as it was... But also all other issues - such as the issue of the land border, which is unquestionable for Croatia since it is the result of Badinter's decision commission," Grlić Radman said.
He added that for Croatia the issue of maritime demarcation remains an issue that will be resolved bilaterally.
"Like all successions, military assets first of all. We strongly support Montenegro's European path and Croatia is a sincere advocate of its European path. Montenegro has shown great interest in solving these issues and can count on an outstretched hand and that we will continue the dialogue," he said. is Grlić Radman.

Ibrahimović stated that the relations between Montenegro and Croatia are friendly regardless of certain open issues.
"Montenegro sees Croatia as a friendly and allied country. Let's remember their support when the integration processes were in NATO. Croatia sees Montenegro in the EU and that's why I see our relations as friendly. Our friendship, alliance and neighborly relations are a good message that I can good friendly relations are cultivated regardless of certain issues".
And Ibrahimović reiterated that political bilateral consultations between the two MFAs at the level of state secretaries will begin on January 27.
"And that is a strong impetus for the improvement of our relations. Montenegro will work on strengthening good bilateral relations, not in words but in action. We share the same democratic values, strategic directions and we must not allow ourselves to stand in the way in order to improve our relations "We need to intensify communication and dialogue so that we can soon be partners in both NATO and the EU," Ibrahimović said.
