Budva Municipality Manager Marijana Božović announced that she attended the constitutive session of the Municipal Assembly on January 10th upon receiving an invitation from the Assembly Service.
"All subsequent events, namely the heinous acts of violent behavior by the director of 'Morski dobro', Mladen Mikijelj, are clearly visible in the recordings that have been distributed through the media, so it is unnecessary to say anything. I personally did not file a criminal complaint against Mikijelj because I am, above all, a human being and I view him as a fellow citizen, someone's brother, husband and father who should not have allowed himself to do something like this," Božović said in her reaction, who provided a recording and photos of the alleged attack.
Upon being summoned by the police, she emphasized, in her statement she clearly expressed her hope that the police and the prosecutor's office would act in accordance with their official duties and "thus show that this must not happen again and that the safety of men and women in society is the priority of all of us."
"Today in the media, instead of an apology, which is human and befitting a man who attacked me - a woman - from behind, we read a statement by Mladen Mikjelj full of accusations and hatred towards me. The hatred and violence must stop! I call on all competent and non-governmental organizations for the protection of human and women's rights to get involved and condemn in the strongest terms the heinous and bullying behavior of a public official, the director of the Maritime Administration, Mladen Mikjelj," she concluded in her reaction.
