The URA civic movement welcomed the arrival of European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, which they said was a confirmation that Montenegro is an important partner and, we believe, the next member of the European Union, but she will not attend the session of the Parliament chaired by Andrija Mandić. "We will invest all our efforts, as we have done so far, in this most important foreign policy goal of our country. This visit is an important incentive for all of us who are absolutely committed to Montenegro's European path. It is also an important message for the parliamentary majority, which violates the Constitution and tries to divert us from the European path with its retrograde policies every day, that it will not succeed in its plans," the URA civic movement said.
Of course we will be at the meeting with Mrs. Kos, they added, precisely to explain that our European path is being slowed down by this parliamentary majority.
"Currently, the Parliament is blocked in Montenegro because the parliamentary majority is brutally violating the Constitution, undermining the rule of law as the most important European standard, pitting Montenegro against its neighbors and humiliating our country. For these reasons, we will not attend the session chaired by Andrija Mandić, who leads all of the aforementioned retrograde attempts by the parliamentary majority. The majority is solely responsible for the blockade of the Parliament and the current institutional crisis," the URA GP announced.
This party reiterated that their return to the parliamentary benches will occur when the parliamentary majority withdraws the unconstitutional decision of the Constitutional Committee, which, they say, can be done in one day.
"The European Union will always have a reliable partner in the URA Civic Movement for all European reforms and values, as it has until now," the statement concludes.
