The president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, said that until the opposition's conditions are met, the Parliament "will be blocked," and that the constitutional order will be "protected at all costs."
According to a statement from the DPS, Živković said that in yesterday's conversation with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, in the presence of the Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, Johan Sattler, he took the opportunity to once again confirm the opposition's demands regarding overcoming the parliamentary crisis.
"For the return of the regular work of the Parliament of Montenegro, it is necessary to annul the unconstitutional decision on the retirement of judge Dragana Ðuranović, as well as to sign an agreement between the opposition and the government, which will clearly specify that there will be no changes to the Constitution in the area of identity issues, nor any changes to the Law on Montenegrin Citizenship. Finally, I warned Prime Minister Spajić that if the parliamentary majority at the state level prevents the formation of a government in Budva and thus once again overthrows the constitutional order, the opposition's response will be a blockade of all local assemblies and complete paralysis of socio-political life," said Živković.
The opposition, he added, led by the DPS, "is determined to stop the legal rampage of the authorities and rein in those who clearly intend to destroy the constitutional order and legal system of Montenegro."
"We will be persistent and uncompromising in this fight," said Živković.
