After the Assembly session was adjourned, MP from the Civic Movement URA, Dritan Abazović, said that they were not sure what measure had been imposed on them because the Speaker of the Assembly, Andrija Mandić, told them that he would inform them in writing.
Parliament was supposed to discuss the budget and the decision on borrowing today, but the session was adjourned for the third time due to opposition activities.
"I really don't know what the measure could be. If they want radicalization, to continue to deepen divisions, the people see that, we are here, ready. We simply stick to the principle that there will be no sessions until the Constitutional Committee overturns the decision," said Abazović.
He stated that it had never happened that anyone prevented MPs from attending and voting, but that it would not surprise him considering the people in power.
"He cannot prevent us from voting and expressing our democratic stance. They trampled on the Constitution, let them fight, we will try to be in our jobs"
Asked what would happen if they were not allowed to attend the session, Abazović said that they should say so, even if they wanted force. He stressed that the MPs from the Europe Now Movement (PES) were mentioning that the MPs from the former Democratic Front (DF) would bring in thugs.
"Imagine, they're telling each other that they're bringing in beaters. You see, Jole Vučurović (New Serbian Democracy) got angry with Čarapić (PES), he says the DF won't bring in beaters. Maybe they mean the same thing as in Budva, but you see, I know the beaters from Skaje, I also know the beaters from SOCTA (Serious and Organized Crime Threat Assessment) and I wasn't even scared when I was in power, let alone when I was in opposition. If they're going to do something physically, what should I do, if the police want to be in the service of not reacting like they didn't react in Budva," he said, adding that he was there, even if it was me, to not let that happen.
He added that he expects to be informed about the date of the session's continuation and the penalties, but that the session will not take place until the constitutional crisis is resolved.
"If they are going to use force, I will not. I want to offer polite resistance, we will not bow to anyone and there is no reason for radicalization," Abazović said.
PES MP Jelenka Andrić stated that she did not know in what context Abazović mentioned the beaters, and that they had also been seen within the ranks of his party.
"Because MP Adžić brutally addressed PES MP Branka Marković in a very inappropriate and rude manner and in that way tried to provoke an incident. Although I am a female MP, I do not want to put women's rights at the forefront, but today's behavior clearly shows what is very visible to citizens - that they want riots, incidents in the plenary hall. We will not fall for that and I call on the opposition to all debate the budget together in the plenary hall because that is what concerns the citizens," Andrić stated.
She also believes that the opposition is working to stop Montenegro's European path, and that the EU Commissioner said that Montenegro is a success story and did not ask for the decision to be annulled, but for the opposition to return to parliament. She reiterated that their goal is the EU and a better life for citizens.
Asked about the plan for adopting the budget, Andrić stated that this was a question for the Speaker of the Parliament, Andrija Mandić, and that everyone from PES came to talk about the budget.
"If this arrogant behavior of the opposition continues, they expect that pensioners will not receive the increase promised since January, proportional pensioners will not receive the increase, and the hospital in Bijelo Polje will not receive three new operating rooms because there will be no investment and no magnetic resonance imaging. These are the specific reasons why this behavior of the opposition is unacceptable, it concerns citizens," Andrić emphasized.
