The Government of Montenegro dismissed the Inspector General of the National Security Agency (ANB), Artan Kurti, from his duties yesterday during a telephone session.
He was dismissed before the end of his term due to his resignation.
In his resignation submitted to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, Kurti stated that he does not see himself as part of a security system that is significantly threatened and collapsed.
"The National Security Agency, through its actions and appointments of certain individuals to highly responsible and important positions, is not fulfilling its legally defined role in protecting national interests, which is why I do not see myself as part of such a security system, which is obviously significantly endangered and undermined," he explained.
