One of the biggest problems in the capital is traffic, which is why Stefan Ćulafić, a member of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the Capital City Assembly, said that he expects Mayor Saša Mujović to present to the public how he will solve it within the next 30 days.

"It is evident that in the first 30 days of his tenure as the city's first mayor, Mayor Mujović has dedicated himself to solving some of the problems that his predecessor, Ms. Injac, failed to even come to grips with, such as the problem with the wastewater treatment plant or hygiene in the city. However, what has not been mentioned in these 30 days is solving one of the most pressing problems, which is solving the issue of traffic in Podgorica," Ćulafić said in a statement sent to the media.

He pointed out that numerous surveys and research by political structures, as well as non-governmental and expert organizations and institutions, have confirmed that the people of Podgorica recognize traffic in the city as one of the biggest problems in the city, both stationary and moving traffic.

"As a responsible opposition, we have had, and will have in the coming period, innovative and sustainable proposals for a final solution to this problem. I will just remind you that at the initiative of the Democratic Party of Socialists councilors' club, a decision was adopted on free transportation of students in city public transport, which significantly increased the volume of passenger transport in city buses.

"I expect Mayor Mujović to publicly come out with a plan or strategy for solving this problem in the next 30 days, which will present to the councilors and all interested public in steps how we will achieve functional and sustainable traffic in Podgorica, without removing bicycle paths/lanes or purchasing old buses, more than 15 buses that have each traveled more than 800.000 km, because that is the only 'contribution' of the previous administration of the Capital City when it comes to this topic," says Ćulafić.

If there is no such plan, the DPS councilor warned, the opposition will responsibly, as it has done so far, present its plan for solving this problem, which the public will be informed about in a timely manner.
