To all the lies that the Democrats continue to tirelessly spread, abusing the local government, we have only one message - honor your publicly given word and enable a repeat of the elections in Prčanje and Mirec and the city will finally have the government it deserves, the Municipal Committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Kotor announced tonight.
"You have forgotten that a public statement is the law in Montenegro, so you continue to deceive the public. The city is in a blockade because of your malfeasance and lack of capacity to understand that you and your coalition partner, who are in power at the state level, won almost 300 votes less than us. The city is in a blockade because of your inaction and obstruction - the whole of Montenegro is in a blockade because of this, and Kotor and Budva are the latest hostages of your frustrations. The mathematics is clear - as is our program and the councilors from the winning list 'Kotor above all' - and therefore we call on the Democrats to stop in order to preserve at least a little dignity, which they mercilessly destroy with their daily appearances," the DPS Kotor statement states.
They are calling on the Democrats to sit down and agree on a date for the repeat elections, in accordance with the final decisions of the State Election Commission.
"And with that, let's finally put an end to their retrograde policy, which left us with 'smart' traffic lights, traffic collapse, dubious contracts for the performance of works with elements of corruption, a ban on competitions at the city pool, the closure of the open pool in the middle of the season, deceived citizens and disrespect for civic initiatives, as well as the privatization of all public institutions they lead. They have proven that they do not know, which is not so terrible, as it is devastating that after seven years the authorities do not have a single project with which to present themselves to their fellow citizens," the DPS Kotor statement reads.
Four months after the elections, the final results of which have not yet been announced, Kotor is still without a formed government, while the Constitutional Court's decision on the DPS appeal is still awaited.
The former mayor of this municipality and the leader of the Democratic list in the September elections, Vladimir Jokić, today in "Colors of the Morning" on Television Vijesti pointed out three possible solutions to the crisis - withdrawing the DPS appeal, electing a new Constitutional Court judge, or activating the old assembly.
