Vuković was the most discussed at the Nikšić Municipal Assembly sessions

From May 7, 2021, when the current councilors took office after the March elections, until January 20 of this year, 25 sessions and one special session were held, which related to councilor questions and answers. During the 25 sessions, councilors discussed for a total of 136 hours, while the special session lasted 205 minutes.

According to data provided to "Vijesti" by the secretary of the Municipal Assembly (MA) of Nikšić Ivana Šljukić, during the 25 sessions, the most active were the councilors of the opposition, the coalition “European Team for Nikšić”, led by the DPS. The councilors of that coalition took the floor 397 times, of which the DPS councilors took the floor 322 times. The councilors of the ruling majority, the coalition “Peace is our nation” and “For the future of Nikšić”, took the floor 279 times, while, according to the parliamentary service, the councilor of the Civic Movement (GP) URA, Andjela Mijanovic She never spoke. Not even the councilor of the coalition "For the Future of Nikšić" Milutin Jovanovic, as well as a DPS councilor Dragoljub Ilic, did not participate in the discussions.

The "European Team for Nikšić" coalition is made up of councilors from the DPS, the Social Democrats (SD), a councilor from the Liberal Party, and a former councilor from the Patriotic-Committee Alliance, now an independent councilor.

As Šljukić explained, the Nikšić Municipal Assembly does not have a digital timekeeping system, like the Parliament of Montenegro, so they could not provide data on the duration of discussions, but they did provide data on the duration of sessions and how many times each councilor spoke.

Councilors of the "Peace is our nation" coalition, which consists of Democratic Montenegro, the Civic Movement "We will not give up Nikšić", now independent councilors, and Demos, discussed 184 times, while councilors of the "For the Future of Nikšić" coalition (DF, SNP, Movement "For the Life of Nikšić", Workers' Party, United Montenegro) had the floor 95 times.

The most active councilor was the president of the municipal council. Nemanja Vuković, who spoke 118 times, almost twice as many as all councilors of the "Peace is our nation" coalition (66 times), and three times more than all councilors of the party to which he belongs, the Democrats (39 times).

When it comes to DPS councilors, the most active was the president of the municipal committee of that party, who is also the head of the opposition coalition councilors' club. Boris Muratovic, who appeared for the word 81 times, then follows Rajko Perovic, who appeared at the podium 56 times, and Slobodanka Roganović, who spoke 41 times. Independent councilor Tatjana Knežević Perišić She spoke 47 times.

As for the councilors of the coalition "For the Future of Nikšić", the most active was the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Arsenije Lalatović, which was discussed 42 times, which is almost half of the discussions of that coalition.

The Mayor also actively participated in the assembly sessions. Marko Kovacevic, who appeared at the podium 63 times.

According to the parliamentary service, the four current councilors only spoke once, Aleksandar Vujović from SD, Milivoje Zarubica from Democrat and Jadranka Koprivica i Momcilo Manojlovic from the coalition "For the Future of Nikšić".

Three sessions passed without discussion, the one held on February 10, 2023, when the agenda included a proposal for the dismissal of Marko Kovačević, the one held on July 18 last year, when one of the agenda items was also Kovačević's dismissal, as well as the session held on January 20 this year, when the agenda included a proposal for a decision on determining the number of councilors in the Nikšić Municipal Assembly.

Although the local parliament in Nikšić has 41 councilors, 40 of them participated in the work, because the councilor Miodrag Daka Davidović, who led the "People's Movement" in the March 2021 elections, appeared only at the constituent session, on May 7, 2021.

The coalition “European Team for Nikšić” has the most councilors with 18, followed by the coalition “For the Future of Nikšić” with 11 councilors, while the coalition “Peace is our Nation” has one less councilor. GP URA has one councilor.

The shortest session lasted ten minutes, and the longest more than 19 hours.

The record for the longest session is held by the 24th session, which was held on 26 and 27 December last year and lasted 19 hours and 40 minutes, and which was also the unofficial start of the election campaign. All sessions at the end of the calendar year lasted longer than the previous ones, so the last session in 2021 lasted nine hours and 15 minutes, the session at the end of 2022 lasted 11 hours, while the session that ended 2023 lasted ten hours and eight minutes.

The shortest session was held on January 20 this year, when it was determined how many councilors would be elected in the elections scheduled for April 13, and it lasted only ten minutes. The second session, on May 10, 2021, when the Mayor was elected (35 minutes), and the 12th session, when the proposal for his dismissal was on the agenda (40 minutes), lasted less than an hour.

During 2021, from May to the end of December, seven sessions were held, in 2022 only four, while in 2023 and 2024 seven sessions were held, including the first special session held on November 26 last year, which related to councilor questions and answers.
