Shedding light on war crimes and all the circumstances under which they occurred is important so that society in Montenegro can confront the past and learn from these unpleasant episodes of the past, the Bosniak Party (BS) said.
The party's MP, Edina Dešić, welcomed the decision of Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović to order the reopening of cases regarding war crimes in Morinje, Bukovica and Kaluđerski laz and the deportation of refugees from Herceg Novi.
Dešić, as announced by BS, said that she expects that concrete evidence will be obtained through a quality and impartial investigation.
She stressed that she expects all relevant facts regarding these events to finally be clarified, so that all those who participated in them in any way can be brought to justice, and the victims and their families can receive belated justice through the court's epilogue.
"Dešić stated that she considers it important to shed light on these events and all the circumstances under which they occurred, so that society in Montenegro can face the past, learn from these unpleasant episodes of the past, and take a step towards a better future," the statement said.
The BS said that the re-formulation of war crimes cases is one of their key and constant demands towards the prosecution, as well as the reason why they have never supported reports on the work of the prosecution so far.
"With that in mind, we hope that these investigations will bear fruit and will not end with the proceedings being suspended or the guilty being acquitted due to lack of evidence," the statement said.
