We defended Montenegro when it was most difficult, we prevented it from being bombed, we restored its independence, we brought it into NATO, we opened the door to the European Union (EU), said the Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Aleksandar Bogdanović.
He said this at a DPS forum held yesterday in Gusinje.
The DPS announced that at that forum, as part of the campaign for the upcoming Congress, it was stated that Gusinje is "a witness to the rich Montenegrin history, but also a symbol of determination to build a better future for our citizens."
"Tonight we are in this proud city, a place that testifies to the perseverance, strength and pride of Montenegro. They say you cannot know where you are going if you do not know where you come from, and Gusinje is exactly such a place, a witness to our rich history, but also a symbol of our determination to build a future in which all citizens will have equal rights, a dignified life and security in their country. Today, more than ever, Montenegro is faced with a challenge - will we defend a civic, multiethnic, European and proud Montenegro or will we leave it to those who want to reduce it to a vassal and economically insecure state," Bogdanović pointed out.
He added that "the DPS program is not just a political platform, but a vow to those who built this country before us and to future generations to come."
"We defended Montenegro when it was most difficult, we prevented it from being bombed, restored its independence, brought it into NATO, and opened the door to the European Union. And now that someone is trying to set it back, we will not allow its values to be trampled on," said Bogdanović.
DPS Vice President Abaz Dizdarević emphasized that DPS is the political organization that has always advocated a ruthless fight for the values of civic Montenegro, and that the strategic goals of DPS have always coincided with state interests and goals.

The DPS statement states that citizens will be able to see this for themselves by reviewing the Program prepared for the upcoming party Congress.
"The first point of the Program concerns the defense of state dignity and multiethnic and multireligious harmony, and the second program point encompasses our vision of economic development and how to improve the lives of the citizens of Montenegro," said Dizdarević.
He added that DPS has done a lot in the previous period to strengthen its rating, and that activities are continuing in that direction, all so that Montenegro can once again have a competent and responsible government.
