The President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, said at today's forum in Šavnik that this city is a signpost on how, through fighting spirit, perseverance and tenacity, civic and European politics can be defended and defended from bullies and violent individuals who want to take power by force, the DPS announced.
"Your perseverance is a signpost to all others in Montenegro that through perseverance, those who would seize power by force and who think they can trample on the Constitution and laws without any consequences can be defeated. You have shown them that this is not possible and that steadfastness and wisdom always win. Just as you stopped them in Šavnik, we will stop them in the Parliament of Montenegro and in every other place," Živković emphasized.
He added that what we are witnessing today is legal violence aimed at the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and leader of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Andrija Mandić, showing that he is above the Constitution and the law and can do whatever he wants.
"Well, he won't be able to. We have already shown him that he can't and he will only receive our response in the coming period. Both politically and institutionally. And just as we sent Andrija Mandić to the opposition yesterday in Budva, we will send him to Nikšić in April and in all other places throughout Montenegro. This five-year agony of our state, which is today institutionally destroyed, economically destroyed and at odds with its neighbors, is coming to an end," said Živković.
He said that the slogan of the 10th Congress is exactly how DPS sees Montenegro.
"Our state must be dignified, a reliable neighbor to everyone in the region, and strong enough to repel all those influences that want to change its character. That is what the Democratic Party of Socialists is like, and that is what Montenegro will be like when we again take over the helm of state policy," said Živković.
The DPS stated that the head of the parliamentary club, Andrija Nikolić, also addressed the audience, saying that if the government truly wants stability and an accelerated path to the European Union (EU), then it will suspend the measures they have adopted and sit at the negotiating table with the opposition:
"It depends on the parliamentary majority whether a parliamentary dialogue will be held. However, Andrija Mandić was obviously nervous after the political outcome in Budva because it turned out that neither he nor Vučić (Aleksandar - President of Serbia) managed to resolve the situation for the first time. This is a new moment and the beginning of a new trend on the political scene that will inevitably lead to the collapse of this, disastrous for the country, parliamentary majority," said Nikolić.
The President of the Municipality of Šavnik, Jugoslav Jakić, emphasized that the citizens of Šavnik resisted all pressures to seize power by force and showed how unity can be used to peacefully defend the electoral will.
"This has enabled us to continue developing Šavnik, which is the best indicator of how an environment develops when it is governed by a civic and pro-European majority. That is why Šavnik today has the largest budget in its history and is becoming an adequate place for all its citizens to live," said Jakić.
