The trend of growing support for the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) is noticeable and unstoppable, said the party's president, Danijel Živković, at today's forum in Herceg Novi.
He emphasized that citizens want stability, seriousness of state policy, predictability of economic opportunities and development, and that, he says, is also what legitimizes his party.
"That is why we must confirm this growth in all local elections, starting with those scheduled for April 13 in Nikšić and Herceg Novi. In Budva, we sent Andrija Mandić to the opposition after 9 years, and we will soon do the same in all other areas. The civic and European political offer is slowly taking precedence over national populism again, because it is the only possible path for the future development of Montenegro. That is why the rating of the Democratic Party of Socialists is growing and will continue to grow, until we soon take over the leadership of state politics again," Živković is convinced.
The president of the DPS pointed out that investments like Porton's are an indicator of how the perspective of an environment is completely changing.
"Thanks to that, today you have a large number of new and high-paying jobs. You have local businessmen integrated into the work of such resorts and the stimulation of local culture, sports and customs. Such investments bring new value. However, for their realization, it is necessary to have political stability and the knowledge to attract investors. This is also the reason why in the last 5 years you have not only not had a single new investment, but almost all existing investors have been dispersed. With our Program, we have foreseen the largest investment cycle in the history of Montenegro, because this is a prerequisite for revitalizing the economy but also improving the living standards of citizens on a realistic basis," said Živković.
Aleksandar Bogdanović, Secretary General of the DPS, expressed his belief that Herceg Novi remains a reliable stronghold for the party.
"You have shown here that you wholeheartedly and sincerely belong to the idea of our party, and that you are not here for interests and privileges. This is a great moral capital of our party, and people like you are the real strength of DPS. For this reason, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart and emphasize that today's gathering inspires optimism that we will achieve a good election result in the upcoming local elections," he told those present.
Bogdanović also spoke about the proposed Program for the upcoming DPS Congress, assessing that the aforementioned text represents confirmation of the quality of his party's offer.
"We have designed a 10-point Program for our further actions. We have covered all segments of social life, because there is no area that has not been ruined in the past 5 years. We have focused on defending the dignity of the state, the economy, investments and improving the quality of life while implementing the concept of social justice. We have paid special attention to the areas of ecology, culture and sports, but also to the security sector and the rule of law. However, in order to be able to implement this Program, it is necessary to improve the results in local elections and improve our ratings. This is our obligation in the upcoming elections in Novi Sad as well," he concluded.
